I got off work Friday and immediately went to the Rec Center to workout. It wasn't the best, but it was better than nothing. I was still really sore from the "Spring Break Butts, Guts and Thighs" class on Wednesday night. After my workout, I went to Wal-mart for some much needed groceries. I came home and made James his favorite: "Tommy Things". Haha! Ever since our dear friend Tommy made James these mini chicken pizzas, James has fondly referred to them as "Tommy Things". I guess he couldn't think of anything better at the time.
On Saturday morning, I started my day off doing laundry as I normally do. I like to get it going as soon as possible so that I can get finished with it as soon as possible. I then did some minor housework, spent time with James, and then got ready for a run. The weather was perfect too. I ran for a solid hour. I haven't done that since the fall, and it felt great. Afterward, I rushed home to get ready to leave for Paris. James' sister hosted the cutest 1st birthday party for our nephew Logan yesterday. We had a fun time watching him attempt to open gifts and eat nearly his whole cake. That kid can pack food in unlike anyone we've ever seen! The theme of the party was "The Hungry Caterpillar". Could the theme be more appropriate? After the party, James and I went to his parents to spend some time with them before returning home.
This morning James and I both woke earlier than usual. He had to leave early for praise band practice at church. While he got ready, I went out for a run. I'm loving the weather this weekend! It was thoroughly enjoyable. I could have gone farther than I did, but I had to get ready for church myself. While doing so, James' dad sent me a text message asking if he could join us at church. James had no idea, so it was a fun surprise for him. James played the drums exceptionally well this morning, I might add. We took James' dad out to lunch at a local Mexican restaurant, and we inevitably ate too much. Back at the apartment, James and his dad talked while I napped. After his dad left, I watched a bit of tv while James went to help our friends change a flat tire. When he got back, he had to leave again for band practice at church for this evening's service. I went out for a thirty minute walk since the weather was so nice, but it had in fact gotten chillier than I expected. I hear it's supposed to get cold again this week.
I hope everyone else had a refreshing weekend! A new week starts tomorrow!

Happy New Year, Friends!
I rang in the new year with my best bud Becca Lou. We had a fun "girls night out" style New Year's Eve while James spent the night with friends in his hometown. Although we didn't spend the evening together, we both agreed that the night out with friends was totally worth every minute! It sure beat sitting at home on the couch like a lump on a log! (Haha, that's for you, B! P.S. Thanks for the pic.)
On Saturday Becca and I went for a chilly little 3 mile run. We both wish we could run together more often especially since the 1/2 marathon is coming up in April, but being 2 hours apart makes it difficult. We're going to try to meet up midway sometimes on the weekends. Maybe that will break up the monotony of running alone throughout the week.
Speaking of which, here are my New Year's Resolutions:
1. Grow closer in my relationship with God.
2. Read the Bible in a year.
3. Train for and run in the 1/2 marathon in April.
4. Exercise more and eat healthier.
So far, I've been reading through Genesis on my new Amazon Kindle, praying more consistently and more specifically throughout the day (thanks to Becca's amazingly thoughtful Christmas gift), and I've gone running 5 days in a row. (Although I did eat McD's for lunch today...oops.) I've gotten off to a decent start, but the key is to stick with it all year. Here's to 2011!
